Tours at Baikal Lake:
If you would
like to try a shorter tour (1 - 2 days) or save some money, there
are a lot of possibilities to do that at Baikal, still being with
professional English-speaking guides working for the travel companies
we recommend in this section. Usually, a few hours rafting down
a river costs about $20 US, an overnight trekking trip would cost
about the same (if you have your own equipment), and a trip to Olkhon
may cost as little as $10 US one way, if you reserve a seat in a
travel company's bus.
Usually, such tours run daily, and there's no need to reserve them
beforehand.
A good place to book such tours are popular B&Bs (such as Nikita's
homestay at Olkhon island) or the tourist centers (e.g. in Arshan
or Slyudyanka).
