and train ticket reservation companies, and taxi and limousine
services. We aim to provide information about the

in our opinion), so we will appreciate if you send us your
feedback on their services, that we can put it online on this
page.
1.
Airports and Airlines
Moscow Airports:
There are three main airports in Moscow: Sheremetevo, Domodedovo
and Vnukovo airport. Sheremetyevo aiport comprises two
terminals (Sheremetyevo 2 and Sheremetyevo 1) which are about
5 km far from each other and operate independently.
Sheremetyevo 2 (SVO 2) is serving most international
flights. Located about 10 km from the Moscow ring road (MKAD),
it takes about 60-90 minutes by car from the center to get to
the airport.
Sheremetyevo 1 (SVO 1) is specializing in Aeroflot (Russian national
carrier) domestic flights and charters.
Domodedovo airport (DME) - most domestic flights
by Pulkovo, Transaero, Sibir, EastLine, Domodedovo Airlines,
except Aeroflot,
charter
flights, and only two international airlines: British Airways
and Swiss Air). Located about 10 km south of Moscow. Takes
about 60-90 minutes by car from the center to get to the airport,
or 40 minutes by fast train from Paveletsky railway station.
Vnukovo airport (VKO) - domestic flights by Siberia, Vnukovo
airlines, Kuban airlines and other local companies and charters.
It is recommended to use Domodedovo airport in Moscow, when possible,
because it is the most modern airport in Moscow, provides good
quality services, such as business center, wi-fi (wireless
internet) connection from Tascom ($10
/ hour, prepaid card should be purchased), and fast-track check-in.
Also, it seems that customs officials in Domodedovo are not as
troublesome
as in Sheremetyevo.
You can get more information about all Moscow airports and transport
connections at Moscow
Guide / Transportation page.
St. Petersburg airports:
The two major airports in St. Petersburg are Pulkovo 1 and 2.
Pulkovo 1 serves domestic flights, and Pulkovo 2 servers international
flights.
Both airports have poor transport links, so it is advisable to
book a taxi.
You can get
more information about all Moscow airports and transport connections
at St. Petersburg Guide
/ Transportation page.
Other Russian airports:
The third main airport in Russia is Novosibirsk's Tolmachevo.
Most Russian airports are in quite a poor state, in the sense
of business services, shopping facilities, and direction signs
in
English.
However, all of them are quite safe and have basic facilities,
such as toilets and waiting areas, although in a very poor state.
To get more information about airports in other Russian cities,
please, choose the city: Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Barnaul.
