Humanitarian visa

+2 votes
Hey, I will be volunteering with an organisation in Miass and Chelyabinsk for a few weeks. They have sent me an invitation for a humanitarian visa. When filling it out the invitation, am I able to put the dates for my entire intended stay (2 months), or should I do that when filling out the visa application form? On that note, is it even possible to extend my stay beyond the days I am volunteering, to travel? I have emailed and called the Russian embassy in Australia several times, with no response. Going crazy!

Well, I don't quite understand - if they already sent you the invitation then you're not filling out the form for the invitation, the only form you need to feel is the actual visa application form for the consulate and that form should have exactly the data that's in your invitation, it's very simple.

They sent me the empty form so that I could fill in my personal information and then send it back to them.

But assuming the invitation only covers the few weeks I spend at the institution, am I then able to ask for more time when applying for the visa? That is, if the invitation only covers a few weeks, can I request a few extra weeks when filling out my visa application, to travel? It should be simple, but no one is answering this specific question.
