Three-Year Tourist Visa Application Experience for US Citizens Based Outside US

+1 vote
Would like to hear back from US citizens, based outside US, on their experience in applying for a three-year multiple tourist visa for Russia when applying at a Russian Consulate/Embassy outside US.

As an update, was successful in obtaining a three-year multiple entry tourist visa from Russian Embassy located in Asia.  Took several visits, including discussions with helpful consular officials, to get things in order.  They needed everything that is expected (online application printed, photos, local residence permit/ID, local property ownership/contract, local bank statement, Russian invitation, local work and salary statement).  They also required a complete 10-year historical account of all countries visited and when, including reviewing details from older passport(s) within 10 year period.  These details are itemized through online application.  Three weeks to process visa.
