Visa Support dummy hotel bookings

+1 vote
Thanks for your reply.
Will your partner company provide me the details of the hotels they have booked? I would like to have this (even though I wont be staying at those hotels) just in case I get asked questions about the itinerary at the consulate or at the airport. Also once I am in Russia I understand I have to be registered wherever I am staying....Will a hostel be willing to register me even if my Visa Support docunents don't indicate that I am staying there. For that matter will hostels even let me book with them once I'm in Russia?

Hey those are not "dummy" bookings. These are the hotels that are reserved in order for you to be able to get the visa. Once you get your visa, those hotels are not listed on it, so when asked where you're going to stay the only way to check is your own words.

The hotels can only register your visa if you're staying there. If you're staying somewhere else (like an apartment), the landlord should register you or you can also ask the company that issued your visa support to provide a registration (usually for an extra $10-$20 fee).

Can I ask, if the bookings are not "dummy" bookings - how should I decide which hotel to select? If I do not plan to stay in any hotel (I will stay with girlfriend at apartment), does it make in difference which hotel I select from the list in the invitation application?
