Baggage storage at Moscow train stations

+2 votes
Does any one know if there are baggage lockers or a storage service at the Moscow train station that services St.Petersburg and how much it may cost? We may need to keep our stuff somewhere for 4 hours, some suitcases are rather large.

In fact, all Moscow train stations have baggage storage areas and most of them are automatic. The one at Leningradsky station is located in the basement floor, follow the signs for "камера хранения" ("camera khraneniya").

The previous answer described well how it may look like - so if you don't see any automatic ones, prepare your passport etc..

Most of the Moscow stations have baggage storage and I am sure the Leningradsky station must have it too. The storage areas are often run by the police so they are quite safe and not very expensive. You will have to show your passport to them when they take the bags, the process is a bit more bureaucratic then we are used to. The policeman will probably not speak any english either but are fairly experienced at getting through the procedure without being able to understand the person. I have used the storage services at the Yaroslavsky station several times and have never had a problem.
