Russian Tourist Visa for Indian Citizen

+1 vote
I want to travel to Volgograd, Russia and I would like to know the procedure to obtain the tourist voucher. I tried buying it from your site but it doesn't shows the option for Indian citizenship. Other than the tourist voucher, what documents do I need? Do you have any suggestions for Indian Travel Agency to do the procedure for me?

The procedure for getting a Russian visa for the Indian nationals is a bit more complicated than the standard procedure for citizens of EU and US. The best way for you is to find a local agency in India that can issue you a Russian visa and do it through them. The way it normally works is that they book the whole tour for you, including the hotel and flights, and this makes it easy to get a visa. I don't know which agency in India could help you exactly, but I'll research on it and let you know. If you find out something, please, let us know as well.

What you can also try is to send in the application using our advertisers on http://www.waytorussia.net/Services/VisaSupport/Business.html (choose "stateless" and don't pay for the visa support - ask them to contact you to ask if they can do the invitation for Indian citizens).

Ok, here is what I found by researching a bit and contacting the Russian Consulate in Bombay.

- Confirmed return air tickets (Which I have)
- Original tourist voucher/confirmation/invitation letter (which I don't have :( )
- Leave letter from employer is required, even though the form says travel insurance is mandatory but it's not.
- Visa normally gets processed in 3-4 days.

So this is what I've found, I am still confused about the tourist voucher thingy :( can you guide me where to get one ?
