One last question, before I send in my application.

I received my invitation, and it is for only three months -- (I will be there for 10). I understand that this time is extended by the school once I have arrived in Russia.

On my application, then, do I request the dates as indicated by the invitation? Or must I request the date on which I intend to depart?

Thank you all for your help so far -- you've been of great assistance!

Better ask your school, but I think you should specify the dates as you want them (the student visas are very specific case, this shouldn't be done with other kinds of visas). If the consulate has any questions to you, you can then explain why you did that.

Thanks -- I'll do that. I just haven't wanted to bug the school about technical questions, because it always takes a few days for her to get back to my emails, and I hate to bog the coordinator down with stupid questions when I can bog all of you guys down instead!

No, thank you very much. Everyone here is being a wonderful help, and I appreciate having my mind set at ease before my trip.
