The 4th post in the above thread which references the 2nd post, suggests there is no hot water or reduced temperature hot water for heating in some parts of Moscow. Does anyone know if this is true about Moscow hot water now, in Winter?

Most Russian towns and cities are centrally heated with hot water. The same hot water that ends up coming out of the bath tap.

In Moscow each district loses its hot water for 2 or 3 weeks a year in the summer, while maintenance is done on all the underground pipes.

This routine summer maintenance ensures a steady supply of hot water during the rest of the year.

Thanks for the information. I experienced the 2-3 weeks hot water turned off when I was in Moscow this summer. The way the 4th post read, it sounded as if the hot water had been turned off recently. Or maybe the poster was referring to the summer hot water turn off.
