| I'm looking to travel from Moscow to Beijing in Aug/Sep (hopefully stopping off at irkuskt and mongolia) but have read that it is impossible to get train tickets into beijing at this time due to the olympics. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks |

The trains will still be running so far as I know. But most agents aren't organising tickets on them because there's expected to be high demand.
Of more concern are the new Chinese visa regulations. New rules came out last week that make it much harder to get a tourist visa while long-term visas are just about impossible. Things should be back to normal in October (both trains and visa policy) if you can delay your trip. |
