Er.....Yes.....I like movies. Having real people and animations moving about on a big screen is a cool idea!
I wonder how Russians enjoying "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"? Ah, the good old 1950s Cold War, strong USSR days...........Maybe Putin will like it after all? |

I have not seen this movie yet, but some Russians are not happy with this film. There is a article on the CNN website that the members of Russian Communist Party are calling for a nationwide boycott of this movie..The link is too long, so I won't post it...there are claims in this movie that has peaked an interest with the Communist Party in St. Petersburg...
There is another article on this movie about Russia, but I have not read it. This movie made 126 million so far. |

The movie (Indiana Jones 4) ain't 'arf bad. Ford does a decent job for an old dude. The movie starts well, but is almost as ridiculous as "Tomb Raider" by the end (+ way over the top supernatural stuff). The first Indy movie, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" had the balance just right.......
Some of my Russian friends actually enjoyed the new Indy movie though. They understand that the movie represents 1950s mentalities and stereotypes (in a fictional story). Remember, the Russians and the rest of the Soviets had their own Kremlin-fed, stereotypical notions of the nasty Western (and US) capitalists at the time too.
Have a great time in Russia, Jojo! |

I am, plus my Russian and Croatian friend are going today to see this movie tonight. They want to see it. It should be interesting. This, I don't understand why the St. Petersburg communist party would be offended by this movie...that was so long ago in the 50's..I say get over it, but that is my opinion on the past...I have seen all the Indiana Jones movies and did not find anything to criticize about them...they are good..more than likely I will enjoy this one too.
I also maybe going to Russia in the winter as well...Dilemma though, my friend look at my winter clothes and said there is nothing in my closet warm enough for a Russian winter... |

Protests of communists in St.Petersburg is very stupid and ridiculous
It seems like good blackPR for the film ))
Many people here enjoyed Indiana Jones, though some find it silly and naive
I saw this film on Sunday, and I think it is weaker than first three parts.
Sertanly it will not become Classic Movie ) |

This film probably will not be a classic in Russia, but in America it will be along the side of the others a true classic someday. Any movie that makes this kind of money will become a classic regardless and it could be the worst movie ever made... |

A lot of people here admired trilogy about Indiana Jones 20 years ago, and now they say, that fourth part is just money-making, expluatation of image, "bubblegum", films for nostalgating fans.
"the worst movie" - like Spiderman? )) |

JoJo,
They may well be right.
I went to Russia in March/April for 3 weeks, first thing I was told when I got there was that I needed warmer clothes.
Even though it was "only" -10C.
Of course, I am an Aussie, so I don't have any actual cold weather to cope with at home (by Russian standards)
Regards

Spiderman was not a great movie. I could not get into it. There is a Russian movie that I saw a trailer on, a remake of the horror movie "Viy" I think it is called "Vedma"...came out in 2006...looks creepy.. |

Our winters are mild here in my state so we don't have a lot of stores that carry heavy fabrics for a winter in Russia...I might have to wait until I get in Russia to buy some clothes... |
