I would like to know how I should register my visa. I will do a Trans-Sib trip from Moscow to Vladivostok. I will arriving in Moscow on an afternoon, but I will take a train to Nizhni Novgorod on the same evening. Then I will spend a day in Nizhni Novgorod but will leave in the evening (overnight in the train) to Yekaterinburg. In Yekaterinburg I will stay in a hostel for one night. I will have this travel pattern (one night on the train, one night in a hostel/hotel).

How should I register my visa all along?

Please advise. Thanks a lot...

With your itinerary, visa registration is not required by Russian law.

However, you should be prepared to prove that you did not stay in any town for more than 3 working days. The clearer the documentation the better: maybe receipts for the train tickets showing dates, or the like.

This way, if you are challenged, or any question arises when you leave the Russian Federation, you can show that you complied with the law.

If you stay in a hotel, you will be registered. Unofficial hostels will register you for a fee if you ask. But, as Romdur said, you don't really need to worry about it.
