Greetings to you all.

I'm planing on visiting Volgograd in autumn of 2010... Yes, I know the date is more than a year from now but since I'm financing the trip by myself I would like to get some basic information on the trip.

I'm a very interested in WW2 history and I would like to visit history sights and museums. I understand there is a lot of them in Volgograd - that's why I must ask how much. Would 3 days be enough to see it all? Or should I stay a week.

Other than WW2 museums, is there anything other I could visit? Except of the "motherland calls" statue, that is.
For me, the idea of good time isn't necessarily visiting a IMAX cinema or whatnot... It's fine if there are parks in the city, shops of local things... In three days I don't expect a vacation like in Paris. If the city is nice, then it's OK with me.

How far are the sights? Would I loose time getting from one to another or can I spend two-three days just walking from one to another? What I'm trying to say is, if the sights are scattered trough the city and I need to catch a public transport then visit a museum then again jump into public transport and go to another sight... Will that ll be too exhausting?

I don't mind staying in 2 stars hotel. What are the prices of such small-cheep hotels? Online I only find expensive ones...

That's all the questions I can think of now. Thank you in advance for your help.

Kind regards,
Filip
