| I received a private invitation to tour in Russia with some friends. I live in NYC. I have appointment tomorrow to go to Russian Consulate. Do you they hold on to my US passport before giving me a visa?? My friend told me they hold on to your passport and then let you know when to return to pick up visa. Is it safe to leave at the Consulate? |

| They will take your passport for processing and then give it back, hopefully with a visa stuck inside somewhere. That is standard. |
