My wife's residence permit in Greece will soon expire ,so does her "zagran" russian passport.She needs a new passport to renew her permit and the problem is that she cannot even apply for a new one at the russian consulate in Athens,Greece.They say that first she needs to register as a permanent resident abroad(постоянный учет) .In her passport there is a stamp that she is no longer registered in her former adress in Miass,Russia.But they said that this is not enough and they asked for this s**t little piece of paper(листок убытия) that they gave her in russia when she unregistered five years ago,which she doesn't have now.So they need to make an enquiry to Miass to make sure that she's actually not registered there.And when the answer comes I figure there will be needed another enquiry when she applies for a new passport.This hole thing with the 'zaprosami' (enquiries) could last for ever and we need that new passport ASAP.
Has anyone had a similar problem that can give an advice?

P.S.Excuse the language but this whole bureaucracy is driving me mad.
