Hi Jessica
What exactly would you like to know about these places? And I'm just curious what makes you go there?
I haven't been there myself, but I know a lot of people who did, maybe I can help you. |

I was planning to go there in 2002, but didn't manage. Anyway, I was in contact with a person in Severobaikalsk who is supposed to be the best guide for the area around there (also mentioned in lonelyplanet). His name is Rashit Yahin and has a website : http://www.gobaikal.com/
He organises some nice tours around Severobaikalsk and they're not very expensive. He knows English pretty well - which is an advantage if your Russian is not good. Good luck! |

| I made it to Severobaikalkalsk- it was beautiful. Rashit not only organised my accomodation but helped me with many other things during my short stay. He and his wife were amazing hosts-I recommend anyone going to this region to check out his website for his summer tours and advice. |
