I've heard there is a boat service operating on Baïkal lake from Severobaïkalsk to Irkoutsk every week (lonely planet guide).
As anyone ever travelled on this boat ? Is it possible to book tickets ?
I'm planning to go to Severobaïkalsk from Novossibirsk with the BAM and to return to the main transsiberian line at Irkoutsk. I think it would be a nice way to visit the lake...

There is a hydrofoil Severobaikalsk - Irkutsk. The schedule for 2005 is unclear yet as it starts going on 25th of June and goes till 27th of August. According to the schedule of last year it left on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:50 AM and arrived in Irkutsk at 18:50. As long as it is a hydrofoil it doesn't depend on weather that much but still there can be a delay (even for few days). Rashit can help to arrange accommodation or tours in Severobaikalsk Wink

Queen Reina has provided a superb service to us folks, and it is shameful for you to suggest that she is advertising. As far as I can see, she has made only one reference to a personal EMAIL address, not a commercial website.

Mr Barley was refering to a previous poster, who was posting to every post with " I agree with you completely" and then included a link to a commercial site, all his postings have been removed. You still may find coments telling him to stop his postings. Mr Barley was not refering to Queen Reina.
