Small test for all participants
1) This young man was born into a very famous and rich family and entered one of the most prestigious colleges in the country. He studied together with very talented children and his teachers did their best to help them use their talent to its best extent. However, the young man did not bother to study properly. His results were inconsistent; he did not pay much attention to the main subjects. His main hobby was reading erotic literature, which obviously deeply affected his further life.
Having graduated from college, he did not even attempt to find a job and lived on his parents’ money. He got into card games and regularly lost large sums of money. He also got involved with prostitutes and was no stranger to being drunk. He earned some money through occasional jobs, but that was as far as he could get in life.
He got married very late in life to a woman many years his junior, due to which fact he had a permanent feeling of jealousy. He got a position in civil service through his family connections but was unhappy in it, because he thought he deserved better. In the meantime some of his classmates were promoted to higher posts, one became a general, one – a minister.
Feeling of inadequacy put him on the route to treason. The only thing that saved him was that he was overly superstitious, as some people without hard principles are. This helped him avoid a very lengthy prison term.
He never gave a second’s thought that his classmates achieved their success through hard work and determination, whereas he was only prepared to work to pay off his gambling debts and feed his alcohol and women habit.
As one would expect, he finished very badly. Overwhelmed by jealousy he tried to kill a man who he thought was his wife’s lover, but got killed himself. The police tried to cover up the incident, which they managed to do successfully.
This man’s life is a good example of the results of life without goals and principles.
2) This man was born in a small town to very kind and decent parents. His dream from the start was to become an artist. However, his parents did not have enough money to pay for his studies. So whilst he was painting nice pictures, he lived very poorly on the edge of starvation. He was not without talent but did not have any sales skills. Picture traders always conned him. It must be said though that only very wealthy collectors can afford his paintings these days.
When a war began, he was conscripted into the Army where a great tragedy occurred. He lost his sight. It was a disaster for an artist. He turned to God and swore that if a miracle happens and he gets his sight back, he will do everything in his power to become a successful artist. And the miracle did happen! He got his sight back. After the war he again put all his efforts into becoming an artist, but to no avail. He was duped every time by unscrupulous merchants.
Disappointed, he decided to dedicate his life to struggle for justice. Due to his exceptional personal qualities, he was able to gather around him many people, committed to the same cause. He showed himself to be a brilliant public speaker, smart and talented leader. He was loved by many, but those he fought hated him. His devotion helped to become a leader of a great organisation. Had it not been for a tragic occurrence, he would have achieved even more. During a battle in which he participated, he killed himself, preferring death to imprisonment. His infuriated enemies could never find his body, so his followers believed he was alive long after he was gone. He is remembered by everyone.

It's probably either Dr Fauste, or Blaked... the pair of them seem fond of all the sinful delights mentioned, and either one may be a civil servant (God help the rest of us...) for all I know... |

Remember he is "reborn", so he must have died in a way or another, but true, the description has many similarities with the oiligarchs puppet insipid life. |

Speculation regards George W Bush being brain-dead may therefore not be a completely idle nor empty subject after all...
I wonder what on earth an "oiligarchs puppet" could be though, seems the old spelling problem still persists... either that, or we're about to be given another lecture in fringe political views... |

Yes you did,actually.
By all accounts, Hilter was a fourth-rate artist.
1)It's probably someone who went down well in history, in order to Prove A Point. Is it some obscure national hero? Hint? |

That's not the truth, that's interpretation. Some consider Picasso a very bad artist too - it's subjective.
Hint: not a hero as such, but not obscure, very famous with a few monuments around Moscow. |
