Every time a man is single he will inevitably meet unattached women and I am bound to state that there are one hell of alot of funny bunnies out there!

Women who dont know what they want because some guy once worked them over in an unpleasent way... and they immediately take the liberty of making out that all men can be stereotyped as coming from the same angle which is bloody ridiculous... Mad

It's absolutely insane and totally pessimistic... Shocked

As a result men find that nine out of ten female singles they meet are already "screwed up" so badly that a relationship with them isn't an option he'd want to take - even if she would allow it!!!!

Women talk about their experiences and imagine everything they hear their friends recite, every bit of tattle, each piece of hearsay and rumour... all of it, they perceive to be true... no ifs or buts... until it becomes... "if another woman said it then it must be the truth and that means all men are bastards.."

Men don't tend to chat with their friends about emotional problems they've had in relationships... not because men don't give a shit about eachother, but because we don't generalise like women do... and men don't take gossip as gospel either... unlike women!!!!!!!!

Get rid of the gossip and half the TV crap about bad relationships... and get the worst affected women into therapy... then, and only then, will the world be a safer place for the male bachelors and philanderers... Twisted Evil

You're absolutely right that there are cultural differences and expectation. Even when men and women from the US are in serious relationships there are unique expectations. If your relationship howver with the Russian man is important to you and you love him, I think you need to be able to talk to each other about both of your expectations. Give and take is a BIG part of any relationship and so is communication. Why after being in the relationship for 5 years, do you now feel this way? Have things changed? You or him?

Ladies, I'd like to say few words to defend Russian men.

First of all, remember how shortlived we are: an average russian man lives only for 61 years and die (12 years less then our dear women)

We're litterally dying out...

Second, Just imagane a pressure a man is stressed trying to lok up for a girl expectations (moral, sexual, proffetional), few girls like loosers

Then, you should take into consideration the constant stress of our current life to make the things worse, the responsibility for family and for providing for live.

With little or not help from state or relatives

With broken traditions and foisted by morden life and MassMedia tastes and habits and so on and so forth...

Don't forget our history - we shoul always be ready to sacrify our lives and to defend our motherland as our forefathers did...

So be mercyful to russian men: they may be degenerating a bit but we have been degenarating for centures and is going to degenerate some more time Smile

Welcome to this forum Alexander. It's nice to have more Russians on this forum. Also nice that you live in a small town so probably have different perspective about life. Generally people in small towns have quite different lifestyles than those who live in big cities.

I think Russian men are good men and agree with you that Russian men do have more stress in life than many others. Your comments are thoughful and you seem sincere enough. Hope to hear more from you on this forum. As you can see this forum can sometimes get vicious. Being more understanding as you advocate is a good thing.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have been in a relationship with a Russian man for the past two years, and if I've learned anything from it, it is the fact that we are completely different and that we will only learn the rules if we want to. There are many things that we disagree on, but we work things out and have taught eachother the differences between American culture and Russian culutre. I have learned that Russian culture is based on Respect and assertiveness. As for the people that have asked if Russian men are bossy, I would say all men are to some extent. Mine is not "bossy" but he does hint as to what he wants, but will never tell me what to do. He is kind, compassionate, and loving. But he is very much the Russian man sterotype... manly, macho, and at times a meat head.(he is not this way at home). Every man is this way, Russian men just seem to have an extra gene for their pride, is it enormous, and will always be. He is a proud Russian and displays it well.
