The one I rented was right over a police station
Usually apartments have all the security you need. You need to know it s some very profitable business in the hands of few people that have the means to secure your pricacy...as long as you pay the rent Occasional thievery would damage their income fluxes. |

Well, the real answer depends on where the apartment is, doesn't it ? There are good regions and bad regions. Safe apartments and easily broken-into ones. In general and as a rule of thumb, I'd say that the closer you are to center, the more likely the apartment is safer.
It's usually the outskirts and so called 'sleepy' regions closer to the outer MKAD ring road that tend to be less safe.
Even that is relatively speaking. I know people who've lived their whole lives on the very outskirts in terribly run-down buildings without locking doors on the entrance to the building, and they've never had any problems.
I think the best bet is to make sure the agency you rent an apartment from is not going to get you some cheap flat in an unlit, untraipsed section of the city.
I, personally, know of only one short-term apartment rental place (that's run by foreigners). I think the address is xxx.xxxxxxx.xx
Hope that helps,

Notice how my above post was edited (and not by me). Apparently you can give advice on this site as long as it doesn't represent competition with their business interests.
Good job, guys. |
