My husband and I have heard millions of different answers about the Army situation. I need to know a definite answer.
I know what months the Army is searching and when they are not. My husband was out of the country and never actually applied anything with the Army. Even when he went back to University on the days the University required him to go and sign papers for the Army he didn't go. And he ended up never finishing because some problems with the University.. So we came here (Uae). Now we want to go back really bad, especially since I'm pregnant.
So, I am pregnant. I've heard a million different stories about how many children you can have to get out. I've heard it's only one and the common answer is two and I think that's the right one. Except my Mother Inlaw is really against us going and she's telling us that even if you have two children they'll still take him to the Army to scare us, I think.
If I have one child I've heard that he'll be able to stay out of the Army until he/she is three years old. Does anyone here know for sure?
I just want to find some sort of real answers. Everyone says something different. :
And sorry that this is off-topic a bit. I just really want to know! |

Yes, that's true. But the thing is that if your husband comes to Russia with you WHILE you are still pregnant, they might still take him to the army. Once the child is born, he has a legal right to stay with you for 3 years. Also, I think you know that he's only liable until he's 27 years old. After this, nobody can take him to the army. Another thing is that if he enrolls in a university of some sort, which has otsrochka, he doesn't have to go to the army. The university fees are usually about $1000 US per half-year, which is OK to buy yourself out of state slavery.
So, what I would recommend to you is to either come to Russia when you already have a child, OR come to Russia while you are pregnant but after June (when the draft is over), OR have him enroll in some sort of university and only after this come to Russia (even if you still don't have a baby).
I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, feel free to post them here. I will move the topic to Russian People forum. |

Thank you so much for such a quick reply. Now I'm a bit more at ease.
I have one more question. I have a friend who needs to go to Russia, but with his child, both are not citizens. The child is 5 years old. Would she need a seperate visa? The man just wants to get a regular tourist visa and only wants to stay for one week or so to finish some business. What would he need for his daughter to go as well? |
