It is not the Pope fault if African are dying from AIDS. By the way, a large part of African population don't know what AIDS is.
Did you go to Africa ? I guess no, you should know it is very difficult for a common African to find some condoms and if he succeed in finding some, most of them cannot afford it. So Africans don't use it not because of Pope recommandation but just because of reasons above.
About Pope message, well it seems to be logical, according to him, people should be virgin till the marriage and after should be faithful to each other. In that condition you cannot get AIDS. The Pope hasn't been understood by a lot of people (including you), you should listen the entire message and not extract a sentence from the context.
As for me, I am a non praticant catholic, and I use condoms, the Pope told recommandations, it is not mandatory to follow it. |

I udnerstand what the old man said perfectly, but he can take his 5th century ideas to hell where he is and stop trying to impose his beliefs over others.
The Vatican is bloody rich, instead of wasting its money in crap they should start buying condoms for Africans, and if Africans dont know what AIDS is is even worse, just for that they should be handling free condoms to everyone and paying good education programs. |

You are right Vatican is rich but in a patrimony point of view. So according to you, what they have to do ? Selling Sixtine church and some paintings of miquel Angelo ? Be serious please.
I am far from being a religious fanatic, but I have to recognize that in many very poor countries (including a large part of Africa) the catholic church replace the state in social and education program fields : what you said is wrong.
Waste its money in crap you say ? Well Catholic church use a part of its money for what I mentionned above (ok not the biggest part) and also probably to maintain churches, monastery and so on.
I am sorry but I ve never heard Vatican waste its money in atomic bombs for instance (like Russia do), this is crap. |

The Pope didn't avoid visiting Russia. He was quite desperate to do so before he died. It was the RUSSIAN ORTHODOX church that refused to let him visit.
The Vatican made several gestures (such as returning revered Orthodox icons like the Kazan Icon of the Holy Lade) but was told by the Orthodox church that this, "is not a reason for John Paul II to come to Russia" (Ria Novosti, May 19th, 2003).
The Orthodox church has long expressed it's discontent with Orthodox conversion to Catholicism.
"The visit to Russia fell through not because of disputes with the Kremlin, but rather problems with the Russian Orthodox Church, which views Russia as its territory. Historically, it has equated being Russian with being Russian Orthodox, and other religions, including Catholicism, have been declared second-tier.
John Paul envisioned a visit to Russia as the beginning of dialogue with the Russian church. Therein lay a basic difference between the bishop of Rome and the patriarchate of Moscow. "The Orthodox side has tended to argue that current problems in Catholic-Orthodox relations need to be solved before a meeting can be held; the Catholics have argued that a meeting should be held as a first step toward resolving the problems," wrote Robert Moynihan, editor of Inside the Vatican magazine.
While the pope has traveled to other predominantly Orthodox countries in the former Soviet Union, including Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia, Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexi II has repeatedly blocked his attempts to travel to Russia. Among other issues, the Russian church has long bridled at Catholics who took over Orthodox churches in western Ukraine and maintains that an expansionist Vatican wants only to convert Russians. serious? are there still people in here blaming our late pope for AIDS? he was just a religious leader, a conservative one, with his pro's and cons.
if his voice means so much in the catholic world... his followers would surely accept that adultery and sex before marriage are sins, just like using a condom is one? aids may well be god's punishment then for them..
the church has never been a role model in sexual education (in sexual repression maybe..) and can't be expected to provide this in a useful way. |

Jews, who run their private TV shows, insult EVERYBODY, every single native ethnicity of Russia: according to them, Russians are "servile and stupid", Tatars "picked wrong religion", Chukchas and Yakuts are "dirty and primitive" and "deserve to be ruled by clever jews" (that is hint on Abramovich, who currently rules them). Isn't that SICK?
If jews have right to insult and attack Russians, Yakuts, Chukchas, Tatars and other native ethnicities of Russia on central Russian TV, why can't Russians or Tatars do the same on Israel TV? Hell, why can't we do that even on RUSSIAN TV?
