All,
I know there has been much hand wringing over price hikes annouced by P.ZH.D and I found a notice board on the train giving details. For those who have travelled before, a little shock, for those who haven't just figure on 30 US more than usual.
Here's a summary for the rest of the year :
Date SV/Kupe Plaskartny
11/7-04/08 30% 23%
05/08-31/08 35% 29%
01/09-10/10 20% 12%
11/10-10/11 15 12
11/11-21/12 10 1
22/12-30/12 30 23
31/12 35 44
So avoid the Christmas (non-Orthodox that is...) rush. The example I saw was a ticket from Moscow to Irkustk on Train 9 had a price variance over the year of 1100 Rubles depending on when you travel.
