This statement is ok for a 10 year old but it's not ok for a respectable school.

I think that the fact that something popped into your head should be cause for celebration. Perhaps a gold star on your calendar. Laughing

The lengthy explanation above really doesn't make sense. I have not heard a word of apology - instead an attack on Media, Waytorussia and unrepented spirit - which makes me believe that the school's attitude toward almost anyone stinks. Which in turn makes me believe the negative rumors about it are true.

well said Vitals...me too

I thought the dialogue in this thread was more serious than the attack on vitals...the above quote is certainly out of place in this thread...here we go again!

Surf, that's the difference between the mentalities. If the incident took place, let's say, in Canada or the US, the school administration would go out of their way trying to ratify the situation. They would accept the legitimate blame and tell the public that the school is doing their best to make it a desirable place for all. Not there.

A lot to learn yet.

Vitaliy says the woman should apologize. She says everyone got paid, and that one guy came to work and read newspapers. She explained herself. Vitaliy's statement is the one that is out of place. He's just chiming in, like a member of the peanut gallery. Helen came here and defended herself, and still, she gets attacked. Yeah, you're right " here we go again". Ganging up on one person, like usual. Does the woman not deserve the benefit of the doubt? I dare say that no matter how many people come here and say that she, and her school aren't as bad as people are saying, that no one will believe her. Isn't this the same kind of trash talk that you always say that people do towards America? I don't think you are really aware of the damage that a few nasty words can do, because it never stops you from saying nasty things about Muslims, and other people.

You are the one who has a lot to learn. You know absolutely nothing about that woman, yet here you are, running her down. I believe the word you were looking for was " rectify", not "ratify". She already said that she was doing her best for everyone involved. She claims everyone got paid, is she automatically a liar, simply because she is Russian? Yes, someone here has a lot to learn, don't they? Maybe more than one person.
I think it's very commendable that she came here and defended herself. I think more of her than of an ex pat who comes here and puts down a person he knows no more about than what he's heard a couple of people say.

BC...read what I said regarding Helen and her school...my agreeing with Vitals was on the issue of russia as a whole and not the school...note in my post I didn't be rate the school and praised helen for coming on here to criticize. I do not know the facts...haven't been there to see and know how they operate so I cannot fairly comment. Vitals is right though in saying/implying that in Russia they tend to put blame else where rather then on themselves...I think this is true to an extent

Here's what pops up in my mind when I look over this thread. Why in the world would anyone blame somebody for something they didn't do? No one would come out and say "Here's what's going on in that school" if there was no reason for that. The fact that there were rumors in 2005, the fact that something has come up again recently points to just one fact: something is fishy at that school.

The lengthy explanation above really doesn't make sense. I have not heard a word of apology - instead an attack on Media, Waytorussia and unrepented spirit - which makes me believe that the school's attitude toward almost anyone stinks. it is true though...the fact that this is even an issue makes me wonder...but I will give the school the benefit of the doubt...

My post was not to attack you. It was to attack what Vitaliy was saying. The America bashing reference was to put it in perspective, my perspective. I know that you didn't just start running her down, like he did. It was not my intention for you to percieve it that way. It is most unfortunate, but I'm sure she will suffer because of the comments made, whether they are true, or not. But I think only people who have had personal dealings with her really have any place to say things about her, wouldn't you agree. Actually you just did, so that's a redundant question.

I am surprised Surf that you are agreeing with everybody... If you read the beginning of this thread (what Mediashark said about that school and then the witnesse of a few other people) it is clear that the school is run rather peculiarly to say the least.

I think I'll just let Helen's post speak for itself and we at WTR had WELCOMED her to post. How are we not being fair? If I was not being fair and objective I would have ignored the PMs and deleted all of Samantha School's posts.

Teachers, it is up to you to take a look and give the school a shot--but only if you would like to be working for such a person who is able to write something like that? Of course it helps not be a lazy slob (unfortunately some English teachers in Moscow are) as teaching is hard work if it has to produce results. Of course in every school politics can take it's toll. To what extent you will allow that to eat away at you, I believe teachers should have the right to read comments, bad or good.

P.S. Helen--after I received the PMs, I did go searching deeper for more information, but certain people refused flat out to give me details of certain individuals. That is why I asked one of your teachers to post on the board so that readers can make their own judgement.

P.P.S. You know nothing about journalism.
