Hi all,
I plan to travel from Beijing to Moscow by train in jan 2006. I need internet connection as often as I can. As I travel with a laptop it would be good to find some internet points.
How's the situation in Russia nowadays?
Is it easy to find internet point or wireless connections?
The more I can get, the longer I can stay

Maybe GPRS through Russia-wide operator? (like BEELINE). 19 US cents/Mbyte as I know. Maybe unstable and slow connect (like 64 kbit/sec and less). And I can't say where certainly cellular will works. But at any comparatively big statoin (inside the city/town and near) it would be allright.
It depends on what type of connect do you need.
It's hard to find Wi-Fi connection point in Moscow. Not mention Siberia.  |

I had my experience with gprs and I guess I prefer sending postcards
it's so expensive, slow and unreliable.
Wireless is not important, but internet points?
I'm in Asia now and it's easier to get online than buy bread! |
