hello friends....i am an Indian, right now studying in St.Petersburg... i will be visiting moscow for 2 or 3 days with my friend for some work in first week of april...
could u suggest which places should i visit in moscow.... i mean what is possible in 2 days? at the most 3 days?
also it would be nice if somebody tell me which should be the cheapest option to stay for 2 or 3 days? i heard hotels/hostels are very costly...we are students so it would be very helpful if somebody suggest a cheap option for staying..

thanks

amit

The standard route is: Red Square (metro Okhotny Ryad - red line), Kremlin, Alexandrovsky Garden (all next to each other), then you walk to Bolshoy Theatre, then through former KGB buildings (metro Lubyanka) to Kuznetsky Most area, then go to Lubyanka metro and go 3 stations down to Kropotkinskaya, there's Christ the Saviour Cathedral (a famous sight with a great view on Kremlin), also there's Pushkinsky Fine Arts Museum. Then take Kropotkinskaya metro, go to Vorobyovy Gory metro (it's next to Moscow State University), walk to Observation Deck (good view on Moscow), then come back to Arbatskaya metro and walk around Arbat street.

All this should take you about 8 hours (with a lunch break in the middle), and you will see all the main sights in Moscow).

As for staying in Moscow, you could try http://flatmates.ru/eng/ or some cheap hotels at http://waytorussia.net/Moscow/AccommodationIn.html

Hope this helps.
