Hi,
It would be great to have RSS feeds for the forums. It would make for easier and faster reading.

| RSS feeds are added to this forum. They are in both formats: RSS 2.0 and Atom. A recommended RSS reader is Safari browser in Mac OS X and Opera browser in Windows systems. |

As of today, RSS feeds for the latest Way to Russia articles and Talk Lounge forum posts are available.
RSS allow readers to view information in a concise manner and have the content delivered directly to their desktop. You can view RSS feeds through your browser (Safari for Mac OS X or Opera for Windows). If you have Microsoft Explorer or Firefox, you can simply download Pluck RSS Reader (which is free) at http://www.pluck.com/products/getpluck.html
RSS is a great way to save time browsing the information on the internet and allows you to have the most important items displayed directly in your browser, like e-mail. |

| Thanks! You just made the routine check for new posts a breeze for me. I already had my rss reader integrated with my email-program for news sites. |

So for those of you who want to monitor Way To Russia via RSS, I highly recommend FeedDemon.

Hi,
A suggestion, provide an OPML file for your RSS links. It just saves us having to import all the sections.
If I could attach a file, I'd include an OPML file with this message.

| What do you think about Atom? I want to get rid of it and leave RSS 2 only -- there's not enough space for every format... |

Hi,
I am using atom right now with my FeedDemon 2 reader. So if you delete Atom, I have to go back in and change all my links.
Most sites offer both RSS 2 and Atom. You really have to support only two formats.
As a suggestion, support both for a while and then look at your server logs to see which format is being used. You might find that both are being used. Trouble is, once people begin using one, they don't like it when you remove it. What I ended up doing on my weblog when I dropped RSS 1 is I used the .htaccess file to redirect RSS 1 to my Atom source.
Another suggestion is to use Feedburner.

Then you could be platform independent. I think Feedburner does all the translation for you. AND you can stuff advertisments with your RSS feeds. So you can add Google's adsense to your RSS and get paid when someone clicks on the link.
I haven't used Feedburner in a big way, but I did bookmark a few links that I thought might be useful for later. I will share those with you now.

One last comment, I am a FeedDemon / Newsgator user. These two applications would hand in glove, so you might wish to add Newsgator button given the strong reviews of FeedDemon.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I believe if you use FeedDemon, they provide a button that suits all the various other services. In other words, you click on the FeedDemon button, and then you can choose amongst My Yahoo, Google, Bloglines, Newsgator etc.
