| I have a small group of people who want to travel to Kamchatka in late September. It seems really difficult to find out what flights, if any, go there. Any ideas? |

Thanks for the information. It sure isn't easy to travel in Russia, is it? I guess anyway you look at it, it's a long and complicated trip. It probably would be a bit easier if I spoke and read Russian!
The closest airports to me are Sacramento (SMF) and San Francisco (SFO).
Anyone else have any ideas? |

I'd suggest going via Beijing or Seoul.
From Seoul you can fly to Vladivostok, then onto Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatkski (Kamchatka)
Also from Seoul to Khabarovsk, then onto Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatkski
From Beijing, Siberian airlines (www.s7.ru) have just opened up the Beijing to Novosibirsk route. From Novosibirsk you can go straight to Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatkski via Khabarovsk stopover.
Just one thing to watch with the flight to Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatkski, is that it's not an every day flight.
Pulkovo also fly to Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatkski (www.pulkovo.ru)
As a last resort, you can rock up to Vladivostok or Khabarovsk and buy a plane ticket to Petrapavlovsk-Kamchatkski very easily, even if your Russian is terrible. |
