Guys,
I remembered one thing that frustrated the living bejesus out of me on my last trip. The public phones and the ones in the railway stations where you pay first and then dial!!!

It would probably be helpful to all concerned to have a run down on "how to use" the various phones.

For instance, In St Pete you have Taxafones, Card phones and others that have dials or buttons. There seem to be about 8 different kinds depending on who put them there. State vs Private.

Another eyeball popper is some phones have four extra buttons, and you push one to talk after inserting your card and dialling the number...... Shocked

Also....I know a lot of "magazin's" sell phone cards.....but which ones are generally on sale? For example, "Telefonnaya Karta" is..........what?

As for the "Telegraph" office of the railway station.....I'll be going to nightschool to learn a truckload more Russian....it was an experience I don't want to repeat....... Crying or Very sad

Almost as good as getting a ticket refund and buying another ticket on a different train........

Regards
