I am trying to determine how to find out what is in, and how to find it/get tickets now. Any suggestions, advice, direction would be appreciated.

In St Petersburg, there's a box office for theaters right in the middle of Nevsky Prospect (main avenue of the city). Called in Russian "Teatralnaya Kassa"
The address is: Nevsky 42
There's one in the Gostinij Dvor (main shopping center on Nevsky Prospect). The address is Nevsky 35.
There are many others scattered accoross the city. The problem is that msot likely they don't speak English in those places. So if you have someone who speaks Russian and can buy you tickets, that would be good.
And it looks like you can buy tickets to Marynsky Theater right here in English and online: http://tickets.mariinsky.ru/
This theater is simply beautiful inside. You will love it. |

I used this web based service in 2004 and I had no problems getting the tickets at the box office. You can find similar web pages for the Bolshoi and other theaters in Moscow. Unfortunately I have never been able to see a performance there. |
