But the killing of a black in Moscow or St.Petersburg is an international story and it was all over BBC. Amnesty is issuing "reports", while ignoring 100X more and worse crimes committed by "foreigners" in Russia. By this logic Russian "skinheads" are also young and silly teenagers.

It's not just the crimes themselves that casue concern (even though there were dozens of such crimes all across Russia, often without any punishment of the perpetrators), but that you see demonstrations of the extremist groups on the streets and there's general feeling on the part of many people in the west that Russia does not take this problem seriously.
if you don't see a distinction between what is happening in Russia and what happened in New York, I can't help you.

| I like St Petersburg and can't wait to go back. I think the fact that if you don't have have these crimes and then all of a sudden you do...well then that is not the norm and cause for concern and attention. Here in the states so many of these crimes go with out attention because it's not un normal. We've always had racial tensions. So many of the perpetrators are in fact punished. Now the news is about spousal murders and college girls in Aruba, and missing children. Anyway It's sad in all these cases. But as for St Pete-I think it's safer than most US cities |

The correct answer is: the center of St Petersburg is safer than bad areas of large american cities. However, law enforcement is corrupt and unreliable and the "bad guys" know well about it. |

I see the distinction. If it happens in Russia, it is major news story on BBC. If it happens in America to an elderly white woman, it is a major story on local CCTV.

Excuse me, I really can't follow you with this one. What are these crimes committed by foreigners in Russia? I reallly must admit that I've never heard from any of that kind of a crime.
Russian skinheads do not only attack on foreigners. Also anti-racist activists have been killed, such as the one in front of the Bukovoyed in centre of hte St.Pete. What bad have these people been doing against Russian skinheads? Handing out leaflets and selling anti-racist magazines? |

I too have serios doubts that ram -who ever he/she is - must be at least slightly towards right wing/republican. And that is what makes his nick so damn curious! Is there something in the white mythology connected with magical letters r, a and m? Or do those letters have something to do with the history of U.S? Or perhaps, are those letters just his initials? I'm seriously confused, because in my limited knowledge letters r, a and m can only have something to do with a band whose singer has dreadlocks  |

First i would like to point out that
THE AMERICAN MEDIA IS BIASED AGAINST RUSSSIA!!!
not one person posting on this topic can claim any argument as true or valid because none of you have a valid opinion on this issue since they are a. uninformed about the topic b. know nothing about the culture of Russia.
First, there are very few neo-natzi's in russia, fewer than 200 at maximum estimates, spread around the country. Recently the most violent group that has recived all the media attention has been caught and put on trial my the Russian government in St. Petersburg. Tourists are safe in Russian because Russian's are not and never will be as racist as any other country in the world (look at america now and then, look at latvia today, look at england the 'humanitarian nation' throughout its history. The original poster on this website was worried that his asian wife and his connection to her would somehow cause them to be in danger, as i assume that their vacation has already occured i hope they were able to see the truth for themselves, when violence against any racial group by "white-russians" has only been against africans and people's from or ethnically connected to the central republics of asia.
Second, although i and the vast majority of all other russians to not condone, support, or sympathize with the actions of these true natzi racists, in fact most are deeply disturbed and disgusted by their actions since the natzi regime so effectivelly wiped out 28 million of out citizens labeling as inhuman and inferior slave labor (hence the world slave comes from slav). However tensions between the targeted minorities and general population have been growing. In Russia it is a well known fact that most of the drugs coming into the country are through african 'students' and illegal and even legal immignrants of tajikistan, uzbekistan, etc. Also the crime and organized crime rate for the central asian minorities is especially high percent wise. Also recetly a group of african students beat a russian man for no reason besides that he was a white russian and ergo by their resoning okay to maime becuase he was a 'racist' even though they had no idea who he was. |

| Riada...you are wrong about the American Media being biased as you see it towards Russia...we don't hear about these Russian incidents in the states. It's only those who have a active interest in Russia who hear about this. And Your defense of Russia is totally paralell to the situation in the US. We can make the same arguement over here. Reading these posts-most of us are saying there won't be any troubles. |
