Hi

Thanks for replying so quickly. We are arriving in Tallin on the 3rd of sept and we need to be in St Petersburg for the 5th Sept - as we are getting a train from St Petersburg we need to be there by the 5th. We want to book them in advance really because I don't think there is any other way to get to st petersburg if we couldn't get tickets for some reason??

How would we book them in advance? Thanks for your help so far Smile

There is no problem to buy tickets in Tallinn before your departure: if not one - then a different bus out of 6 daily. It looks like the Eurolines' site does not provide e-mail sales properly (I have failed to wait) - and definitely, not so much time in advance.
Also - there a daily train at night.

If you really want to book in advance you can buy that ticket through Way to Russia. Go to:

www.trains.waytorussia.net

and choose the vendor "Express to Russia". But it's expensive (agent mark-up, plus delivery to Tallinn). I agree with Andrey - you'll have no trouble buying the ticket in Tallinn. I've taken that trip in the middle of summer and got my ticket the day I traveled.

We are traveling to Talinn in August 08. The idea is to go on to St. Petersburg from there by overnight train. (not too keen on the bus). I am struggling to find out whether there are trains operating this service or whether these have been canceled?

Trains are definitely in operation - passing just next to my country cottage.

Train leaves Tallinn at 23.30 h and arrives at St. Petersburg at 07.21.

We want to take this train next July on a Sunday: is it a risk to buy it that day in Tallinn or should we order it on beforehand?
