A few Visa questions

... some extracts from the LP Visa guide:

"All Russian Visas must be registered with OVIR within three business days of your arrival in Russia and then again at any place you stay after that for more than three days. The company or organization that invites you to Russia is responsible for your registration" - Doesn't this mean that if I were to get a business invitation from WayToRussia, it would have to be stamped by WayToRussia when I arrive in St Petersburg? - and if it has to be registered in every place I stay in for more than 3 days, how can I get it registered if I am staying in a homestay for some of that time?

Also, fair enough the visa can say I will be staying in a Hotel all the time, but won't this cause problems with the Russian authorities if, for instance, I am trying to leave the country by rail at the Mongolian border and my Visa says I have been staying in St Petersburg for my entire stay?

Thanks,
Stefan

WayToRussia wouldn't stamp your visa, because we do not issue visa support ourselves as I've written numerous times on this site. It is done by our partner companies (depending on the type of visa you choose), and they would stamp your visa, yes, even if you stay in a homestay.

The "every place" bit applies NOT to the type of your accommodation, but to the city or town where you stay.

As for the last question - no, it won't cause you any problems, because
1) There's NOTHING written on your visa about where you stay -- it's only the registration stamp that may say something about where you stay, but nothing prevents you from taking a train and leaving through whatever route you find the most interesting.
2) You could spend a few days, even weeks, traveling by train and stopping at every town, but for less than 3 days, so there was no need to register you visa, you simply wouldn't be able to do it!

So, hope this helps.
Smile

Thanks a lot for that! I do have on more question - we will be applying for business visas - does the partner company have an office in St Petersburg to get the visas registered?

Everything is much clearer now - thanks again! Very Happy

Yes, they do, right in the center. You'll receive the address after you apply for your visa.
