You too Spicey. Once every ten years is not enough.

I am not trying to make fun of you or anything. I just have an impression that you sit by the pond all year and never see the world. I visited Russia once - that's correct. But I have been to Mexico 6 times in the past few years. Visited Paris twice. And went to many other countries in Europe - Spain, Italy, Austria, etc. You should go to Russia this spring - that will be an exotic trip for you. Certainly, more beautiful women than you can hanging out by your house - I mean, bus.
I thought you were Russian!!

Spicey was Russian. He is American now. He left Russia 10 years ago. In order to become American, you have to denounce your former country. I am Irish-Canadian.

Well no disrespect to Spicey then...and he is Russian...if you were born in Russia then you are Russian. BC if you were born in Canada then you are Canadian. Yes if Spice is a citizen of the US then he is American.

Exactly right. I only say Irish-Canadian to indicate my lineage, but I am a proud Canadian, period.

Ok. My family comes from Dublin, Ireland. I was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. I am 100% Canadian, and proud of it.

I was born and raised in the good ole USA and my family has been here since 1629. But prior to that both my mom's and my dad's family came out of England. And prior to that I'm sure they go back to Scotland and Ireland. My family belongs to so many lineage societies that i lost interest. But I also think that being an American is a state of mind. We have North America, South America, Central America...but saying you are American usually means the USA and that you are proud of it. And it doesn't matter whether you came to here yesterday or 1000 years ago. And I view Canadians and Americans as basically the same...we live on the same street...have the same heritage, and yeah are basically the same.

Except for Americans from the south.
For them saying you are an American means AMERICA (North, central and south). As for people from USA they usually call you "Norte Americano".

Denounce= to give formal notice of the termination or denial of (a treaty, pact, agreement, or the like).
