Hi!
This is the trip I am planning and I just need a little help to see what is best price wise etc.
Moscow - Irkoutsk
Irkoutsk - Ulan Baator
Ulan Baator - Beijin
I want to be in Ulan Baator by latest 10 July.
What is best, or do you have special offers to combine the 3 sections with stop-overs? The stop in Mongolia will be more than one week long. Any special offers as well if we travel at 2?
I have seen also there are some trains between Moscow and Irkoutsk with 3rd class. How is it? Is it a sleeping class as well? I saw as well you mentioned 2 different prices for some trains in the same class, e.g. n. 10, 44 etc. what is the difference?
Finally, if there is no specific offer to link the 3 sections with stop-overs, how much is it per section with different trains?
When do we need to book? Pretty soon I expect??!
Thanks a lot,
Marie |

Hi Marie,
I've just booked all of my Trans Mongolian trip, and did quite a bit of research before hand. The lonely planet guide is obviously a must for the trip and I found a company called "Monkey Business" who are in Beijing were pretty good. You do usually get a discount for more than one person travelling, check out there site and you can plan all your stopovers and they even have a number of packages to choose from..
Hope that helps.. |

I had pre-ordered my train tickets with WayToRussia.Net, and they were to arrive at my hotel upon arrival in Moscow. The courier tried to deliver the tickets before I checked in, but the front desk would not accept them. Be sure to keep that in mind when ordering. I was able to contact Dmitri, and he arranged for the courier to come back to the hotel and bring the tickets directly to my room. These guys are great, and I used many of the services from train tickets, to apartment rentals. Highly recommended! |
