Hi

was wondering if anyone could help me.... a few yrs ago, about 2000/2001, i stayed in moscow in some very very cheap apartments, not too far from the city. it was only a few USD per night, maybe even less, like 5USD for 2-3 nights. Very basic room with 4 single beds. there were a lot of workers from rural areas staying there to work in the city (we found this out after a lot of animated conversation using lots of hand gestures... they were very friendly).
i plan on going again later this year, and would be keen to stay in that sort of place again (much more interesting than foreigner hostels etc-no offence- and way cheaper!), but I don't remember any details. Does anybody know about these sort of places?

i don`t know what are you talking about, but i am sure that for $5 is possible to sleep only in subway.

no, it was in a suburb a short train trip from the city centre.. an apartment building with lots of locals/ppl from countryside, basically no foreigners. u got a room with 4 single beds and some dressers, shared bathrooms on each floor.

and yes, it really was that cheap, though this was back in 2001... it was as clean and comfortable as any hostel, but way cheaper...

anyone?
