| I read somewhere that I can't apply for a Tourist Visa less than 90 days before arrival in Russia. Does anyone know if this in true? |

| I think you can still apply for an invitation, but the actual application to the Russian embassy can't be made more than 90 days before the first date of your stay in Russia |

Thanks for your response, hopefully you can help me further.
I am planning on applying for a tourist visa to cover my trip on the Trans Mongolian journey and as I am currently in Vietnam I want to try and get the visa issued here or in Hong Kong (my next stop) soon.
My question is as my trip will not be until early September would I run into problems if I applied for the full 30 days visa but began the journey from Beijing two weeks into the start date of the visa?
Would this be a problem with the invitation as it would state a hotel in Moscow where I theoretically would be staying before I had left China. |
