Jo jo - I would suggest you not to generalize like this. It sounds kind of silly, to be honest. I don't think we here are well positioned to make judgements about the whole Russian society based on one particular case. According to all the polls I have seen, cheating is very common in the US. I would be surprised that it's more widespread in Russia than here. When I was growing up in St Petersburg, I have not seen or observed anything like that. |

You shouldn't be telling an ex you still love her and then see the one you are with. Do all you Russians believe in open relationships? Ex-...-friends should be dumped. Myself had hard time when I tried to get rid of the former girl-friend, being already married. I think ex-...-friends around is sign of unhealthy relations. I don't know anything about high divorce rate in Russia because from all my familiar people only one pair was divorced. |

She sees no problem with calling or recieving a call from her ex in fact she sees no problem with having a drink with him...she says she completely loves me and therefore its OK but me getting a call from my ex and then telling her the same that i completely love her and its OK does not work...is it Russian womens logic or are all women this way... |
You are being played by this troll. She is probably having sex with her ex, and living off your income. I see nothing wrong with your ex calling you to ask about a security issue in the house. Since this idiot seems to have some horrible double standards, I think its time that you tell her to pack whatever shit you didnt buy her, and hit the road. |

You have both misunderstood what was typed. He didnt say that he told his ex that he loved her. He said his girlfriend thinks its ok to go out with her ex boyfriend, and then come home to him and reassure him by saying that she only loves him, and not her ex. So his girlfriend got angry that he spoke to his ex on the phone about a security issue, and after the call he tried to reassure his girlfriend (the same way she reassures him), that he loves only her, but the skank wont accept it. |

I understood the whole senerio, this relationship is double-standard and needs to resolve. It won't last anyway. When you have drinks with someone else especially an ex, then this means they are not thinking about the one they are with. It is time to goooooooooo! Kick it to the curb.
This is just my opinion. |

we talked for hours last night about the differences between Russians and the rest of the world [expatriats] i packed some bags to leave... we made up and there goes another chapter in this crazy book of life i have right now....security issue was that the alarm system in the house i built and my ex lives in went off at 1 am showing the door to the basement open she panicked...neighbors are away so she instictively called me...
anyway no doubt i will be back with a new chapter with the same issues... |

I wonder if the situation would be different if your girlfriend wasnt Russian. Would you tolerate this same behavior from a woman back in your home country? Being too quick to look past what you perceive as a simple cultural difference, isnt too smart. I hope you wake up and dump this "woman". |

I've been married to a Russian woman for several years now and sometimes we still have a culture difference but nothing to get excited about.
I've never noticed a culture difference that says she can eat with her ex and it's suppose to be ok.
I've found that most Russian women want no contact with their ex's.
My wife is one of those women.
This girl to me sounds if she wants to be controlling...you say she's got the looks and the friends...my wife has the looks and friends too but she knows I come before the friends and she comes before my friends and we respect that.
Maybe you have the money and she thinks she has the looks to have your money and control you.
Life is to short, to many better looking panties than hers out there that want a good relationship if you'll open your eyes...I would dump that gal and send her packing back to her ex and start checking out the other panties.
Just my 2 cents worth

| I agree with surfguy and Fire-G. Bernieboy, you are being too passive with this situation only for it to be repeated again later. If you want to keep this girl and go back to the drawing board over and over again then you have no one else to blame but yourself. You know, it is usually the women who get the abuse, but it is starting to happen to men alot more these days. It has been said that women always end up going back to the same man and abusive relationships but I see alot of men do the same thing. People rather be abused mentally or physically than to be without someone in their life. They fear being lonely and they will put up with the abuse than to go to bed at night by themselves. |

| Tuller hits the nail on the head with this one...so not worth the frustrations you are experiencings...trust your intuitions as they are probably right. I know I've been there...and mine were right. Kick her to the curb. Good looking russian women are plentiful and there will be one out there who respects you enough not to pull the shit she does. No excuse is worthy of what this girl is doing. Blatant disrespect... |
