|

Hi all,
I'm doing the trans-sib in 2 months and I'm looking to buy this ticket 020-CH Trans-Manchurian from Moscow to UB....but, here's the kicker...I plan on getting off in Irkutsk and not getting back on. I don't care (even if I could) about getting a ticket endorsement for the unused portion. I'll just buy a seperate ticket to UB a week or so later. The ticket is around 100 Euros cheaper than buying a ticket from Moscow to Irkutsk...300 Euros is just ridiculous. What is happening over there?!
Anyway, here is my question. www.seat61.com says the following: "If you are stopping off, remember that the weekly direct international trains 4 and 20 from Moscow to Beijing can only be used by passengers making the complete international journey from Moscow through to Mongolia or China - you cannot use them for domestic trips within Russia, although train 4 does carry passengers between Ulan Bator and Beijing, and allows passengers for Beijing to join at places like Irkutsk."
Is someone going to PHYSICALLY stop me from getting off the train or they just referring to getting a ticket endorsement? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
All your help is greatly appreciated!
Sean
I hear about people getting left behind at stations when they didn't realize the train was leaving. I can't imagine they control who is getting off the train. |
