Hi,
I'll be travelling on the Trans-Mongolian this September, going Westwards after starting in UB. My first stop in Russia is Irkutsk, and from there I hope to travel to Tomsk.
There is no choice for Tomsk on the travel information page of this site, so I'm a little stuck! I don't intend to buy my tickets until I'm in Russia, but does anyone know if going from Irkutsk straight to Tomsk is possible? Better yet, is there any way I could get a train schedule and potential prices before I leave?

From Irkutsk one train per day, alternating up until early september.
Train 207 on odd days, 011 on evens.
About 1 day 7hrs travel time.
Tomsk has two stations listed - Tomsk 1 and 2, 8 klms apart.
www.poezda.net ..too easy.
