Just came back from the Russian Consulate in D.C. and here are some new rules that I had to deal with:
1) They changed the visa application form last week, so make sure you get the most recent one from their website, because they will tell you to fill out a new one right there.
2) Cover-Letter is a must now. They have blank cover letter templates there. So, you can fill one out before submitting the application there or create your own before you go.
3) If you traveled to Russia before but have a new US passport that doesn't have your last Russian Visa, make sure you bring a copy of that Visa from your old Passport just in case. I was told to bring it if I still have the old passport. |
