Hi - I'm travelling from Moscow to Beijing via Mongolia in Feb 2006 and trying to work out how easy it will be to book tickets and arrange activities (i.e ice diving Lake Baikal, ice fishing, sledging, skiing etc) on the way. I don't speak Russian although am learning but will not be in any way fluent by the time I go. So far my research is indicating that I should book via an organised tour as at this time of the year most places will be closed and they can also help with Visas. Any guidance / thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

ICE DIVING????????
Are you insane!
That doesn't sound too pleasurable. How long do you stay in the frigid cold water?
