I am taking a vacation soon and considering visiting St Petersburg for a 10 day /2 week break. Any recommendations for good places to stay when I am there.

Thank you for that, I looked at Taddeo Battistini's and it seems what I am looking for. I will contact him to find if dates are still available and will mention that you recommended me.
I have 2 questions and may need to address them on another forum.
What is the temp in Jan like ? I am considering visiting St Petersburg in mid January for 2 weeks.
Also, I have read some on the visa requirements, and I know you get asked this a loy. But, do I need to apply to the Russian Consul in the States to arrange this ? Is it true that I have to have a contact in Russia like the place I would stay at -Taddeo Battistini's.
I am a Briton residing in the States permananenty on a Green Card- can I get the visa in the USA or do I have to apply in London since I am travelling on a British passport.
Excuse me if you get these questions a thousand times
