|
|
| Spring has more or less sprung here in Massachusetts, though we did get a couple inches of snow the other day. But temperatures now are in the 40's F. and Sunday is expected to reach 50 degrees. Great for Easter Sunday and egg hunts which the kids love. When does Spring arrive in Russia? I can't wait to do some gardening and get my cycle out on the bike path. Crocuses, daffodils and tulips are showing them selves, though won't be in bloom for awhile yet. Does anyone have spring fever here besides me? |

Well, spring didn't start on Sakhalin yet... It's still minus... Though they had pretty good weather couple days ago, everything started melting and it was really dirty. I called my friend the day before yesterday and she was complaining about the weather, korsakov crapy pizza and so on... She thinks I am lucky to be staying in America, I think I am too. It's kinda cold here in Kansas right now, I had track practice today and almost froze... I am in a spring mood too, that is why I don't wanna go back to school on monday... |

Well here in Phoenix it's a blue, some clouds in the sky but otherwise clear, 75 degree high for the past couple of weeks. And nothing is going to change. But Phoenix sucks, and I wish I was back in Los Angeles. Nothing better than biking in the Los Angeles mountains during sunset and coming back to an ice cold soda and enjoying the summer nights.
But remember, warm weather isn't as good as it's cracked up to be. You sweat like hell during the day, and get bugs!! |

Spring ? What's that ?
Here in Moscow it's still snowing. Supposed to get minus ten after the weekend.
Traditionally, Russians consider the first of March to be the beginning of Spring, but geologically, it's the same as it is everywhere else, of course, on the Vernal Equinox which falls on the 20th or 21st of March. |

| Sorry you still have snow in Moscow. Today is absolutely gorgeous close to 50 F. After winter, spring is something special. I'm sure that Russians are eagerly waiting for spring and rebirth of nature. The Robins and other migratory birds are arriving now. I love the song birds and its great to wake up to their singing. |

| Yesterday Alex and I took our 1st bike ride of the season. There was however still some snow that we encountered on the bike trail, so couldn't go that far. But still it was nice to get out on a balmy early spring day. Even more special was that cycling back I saw my 1st Blue bird of the season in a meadow. Blue birds are stunningly beautiful with vibrant blue and orange color. OKAY, sorry to rub it in for those of you in colder climates who have yet to feel spring arrive, but yesterday I also saw our 1st spring flowers bloom in my front yard- crocuses. Today it is raining hard. |
