I am trying to get my Russian Visa through the consulate in Washington D.C. When I called and asked if it was ok to change my itinerary once I had my travel confirmation, hotel voucher and invitation they told me that it was illegal to not spend the night in the hotels listed in the voucher.
Once I register my visa when I arrive they will know that I am not following the planned itinerary. Can I still use this service but request the hotels I stay in? Any help in this matter would greatly be appreciated.

They do not check that information.
There are 2 things important..
1. Don't come earlier then your visa is valid for
2. Don't leave later then your visa is valid for
The rest; stay where every you want..
The registration isn't even 100% required, because they do not check it. But do it to make sure you will not have problems..
But you can stay at any hotel or private house. |
