Are there boats or lake activities that time of year? What about hiking? What would you suggest? We have about four days there or should we use it in other places on the railway that time of year? Thanks-- we have about 35 days from April until May. Would the Gobi be more weather friendly?

I've heard that the bears are coming out of hibernation around that time and maybe you want to take a shotgun along with you if you'll be stepping off the main tourist track at all... Rolling Eyes

Other than that I'm not sure everything touristic will have kicked in, you would seem to be arriving before the summer season just a tadge... maybe you'll be lucky enough to get a reply from somebody more local - and you might want to Google for any forums that are geographically closer or more Baikal orientated when you have some spare time Smile
