Ok, here's my problem. My spouse is working in Moscow right now until the end of April. My daughter and I are going to come and visit him next month FEB 18, 2004. My daughter will stay for less than a month, during which time we will leave Russia and do a bit of travelling before heading back to Moscow where she will then go back to US. I plan on staying until the end of April when my husband leaves. I called the Seattle Consul here and told them my situation. They said I had to get a Tourist Visa and see about getting it renewed; that I was not eligible for a Business Visa. How hard is it to renew a Tourist Visa, and if I were to try to get a Business Visa for me and a Tourist Visa for my daughter after already talking to the 1 person at the consul who I assume would be the one who would approve my application, what should I do? My husband is staying at a hotel in Moscow that would issue a letter of invitation, but I don't know whether they could issue a Business invitation or if it had to be a Tourist invitation, and of course, there is the problem that the Seattle Consul might remember my approximate situation since I will need to apply within the next week to get it back in time. Thanks for any help you can give me.
