hi, next september i'm going to travel with the transsib, and i will have my laptop computer with me. is it possible to charge it somewhere on the train?

Yep.
The train plugs I've seen are standard European two pin 220/240 Volt. Depending on what country you are from, look at the AC Adapter that your laptop came with and check to make sure it can handle 110-240 V input. Then all you may need is an adapter plug, or better yet, a two pin European standard power cable. I know their are plugs outside your compartment, I'll check on the inside when I'm there in a couple of weeks

The plugs on Russian trains are for low-consumption devices only (like razors). I don't know if they give stable current for a computer and personally I never used them because of that. But maybe it's allright.
TO BLANCHE_ALINE:
Can you tell me what travel set you have got? I have powerbook too and would be interested (maybe, a link?) |
