Sorry for this silly question, but how exactly are the dates on a Visa meant?
For instance, if I have a Visa from the 3rd of July till the 1st of August:
I can enter Russia first on the 3rd of July, this is clear.
But is the Visa valid for and including the 1st of August or only till the 31th of July?
Is the 1st of August the last day I can be in Russia and leave or is it the 31th of July?

You know, I'm not sure about this stuff myself. To be on the safe side, I would leave before 1st of August if the visa is until 1st of August. However, as far as I know, you should cross the border not later than the "till" date on your visa
Of course, the entry date is the first day when you can cross the border to come in.
