If it is your first visit and you don't know them well, I would just bring a very nice bottle of wine or spirits, from your homeland, to give them initially, then after your there a few days take a look in the home and see what is missing, depending on your desired amount of expenditure, you can buy them something useful for the home and surprise them. I did this and found out the mother really wanted an electric breadmaker, I stayed there 20 days and it was a small price to pay for the warm hospitality they gave me. The mother loved the gift and the family loved the bread. I have stayed with them 4 times now, and each time I go, we sit with a bottle of vodka and fresh bread to celebrate my arrival in their home  |
